'lil Chef
if my Mom is by, i think i'll have her take me to get clams in the strip district & then make a semblance of the ones i got on Mother's Day!

i'm breakfasting on GUS pop & seltzer, too

Brining some split chicken breasts that will go on the grill along with sugar pod peas from the garden. I tried f or the first time a climbing variety of sugar pod peas and have been very pleased with how they perform. We have been eating peas 2X/week for nearly a month.

I'm making kalbi today and having corn on the cob. Not sure of the third side dish yet. The kalbi is marinating away in the fridge until later.

Mommy just asked,"Do we have ground Pork?"....

Right then and there....I knew what she was proposing to make.....

Halupki...( Stuffed Cabbages) ... OOoooooooooo!!!!!

She just went up the hill to the farm stand to get a Cabootchkie.

Yum Yum..love the smell of them cooking. DW makes em the best.
She makes mine with the green outer bitter leaves. I love bitter.

When DD finds out Cabbage is cooking...she won't come over. She says"It smells like morning farts in a camping tent after everyone ate beans and drank brewskies!"

Ha Ha Ha Ha ...

luv stuffed cabbage much! we/i make 'em w/ tube sausage/burger & blanched cabbage w/ tomato sauce.
my Mom wouldn't take me 2 get clams, so maybe pork & also polenta w/ green chiles. i hafta cook many foods tonite, as i tend 2 buy too much produce, forget i own it, & 'at-
gotz to use that sooooon

sweeeet!~ my friend is grilling wursts, :hotdog:, dogs, then making sauced ribz last 'at & he offered me food. so he says, 'u know, u gotz 2 save 'dem ribz 4 last'. mmmm, his own sauce, his Mom's recipe- cannot wait!
hm, i should find something to cook/take. could yinz give me pointers- ain't got time 4 potato salad, nor have i got celery anyhows. thinking on my feetsies, here. they luv comfort food!

How about Beenz..?? Ya being from the Burgh gota have access to the Heinz beans.
Then you could chop and cook in a little oil and garlic some green veggies like zucchinni..or broccoli ....or cauliflower, and add them to cooked shells pasta. Add a little more olive oil so it don't stick in lumps...

Another quicker whipper upper...is pasta shells / or noodles / with sour cream garnished with like parsely.. It's a plain and tempting tasty take to.

I alway's just nuke the sour cream like 20 seconds to take out the chill. Not hot...just baby bottle warm. Ummm...I could go for some right now!!

great thoughts, thanx; yep we have heinz (u can get many, many foods here) tho i am uncertain if there's beenz (baked ones, anyhoo) in my pantry. hm.

i have many pastas, & a tub of sour cream, though nada parsley. dammit. refuse 2 own a nuker, too, lol. there's an old thread on that from a few years ago. my Mom bought me one 4 Christmas, said 'i know you're likely not gonna wanna keep this'. she was correct. the micro was returned promptly. i was like, thanx, Mom, 'cept there shant be a microwave in my 'kitch in my lifetime. she already knew, being my Mom & 'at. as was put 2 me by another, 'you're a #%^)*!& food snot, lol. damned straight, unless tired/sloshed

it's looking like a micro green and grape tomato salad followed by fried pork chops, sauteed potatoes and peas with mushrooms.

Cassata cake for dessert, then Curb Your Enthusiasm!

dinnertime!~

BTW, my fam's sauce, by far & away, puts this sauce 2 shame. thiers was too spicy, nary sweet, nor a hint of tomato. hm. sweet baby ray's is better. the sentiment & 'at is the point, tho. i appreciated the food~ & the meat wasn't properly cooked. many don't know, though, how 2 properly make them

Oh I agree. I took my almost brand new had to have microwave OFF the counter & its sitting in my storage closet. I don't miss it one bit, nor do I want it back in the kitchen.

Second day...."Food Flop"....

DW made stuffed cabbages (Halupki's) and the cabbage was stringy and tough...
And the meat was like "Freezer Burnt" tasting. It was over a year old, and it was possibly a little off tasting.
Well...the animals will have a feast tonight....LOL...

I had a bag of muscles in garlic sauce (frozen )..and just heated them up good.

DW had mashed potatoes with butter.

I just feel so bad that DW put so much time and effort in that meal, and it had to turn out bad.

in my mind, that teaches us further so that the next meal is great & you're aware of how 2 better it, u know? food flops often can lead 2 success, in retrospect, i say!

How True luvs...How True!....

I've learned so much from failures...but I always got right back at it to perfect it. IMO

Oh my, I couldn't live without my microwave! Such a convenience. Melting butter or cheese, heating leftovers. I love mine!

Jimmy, too bad you pitched the cabbage rolls. You could have chopped them up to make skillet stuffed cabbage and ate it over mashed potatoes. Now that's yummy. Mmmmm, I might have to make that for myself pretty soon. DH won't touch it.

Here's my dinner. The kalbi was good.

I made stuffed mussels, grilled salmon, steamed clams and salmon pizza. Salmon pizza is one taken previously. I forgot to take a picture of it this time.

Luv, the left over salmon was bland so i added some smoked salt and made the dip with it and some mint, sour cream, mayo, onion, cilantro and hot pepper sauce. It wasn't the same as at the restaurant though.

recipe at blogspot mentioned below

Baked potato, loaded.
Sprite.
1 outrageously big assed peanut butter cookie.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha ...OMG Sass...that is so funneee! LOL

Everytime I see peanutbutter....I think of how delicately I will paint the peanutbutter on crackers. Yea! Right! By the Tablespoon full on each cracker.

Then comes the ( what I call ) "The Last Finger Lump" of Peanutbutter.....
That is when you are ready to put the jar away, but just have to get that huge wad on your finger and lap it down. Ummmmmm!
Actually I do that, but I scoop it out with the butter knife, and not my finger.
LOL

I've never had kalbi, but yours sure looks good, Nancy!

Norm, the mussels and clams :yankchain: oh my :readytoeat: ! I haven't had those in so long, and I love 'em.
