Groundhog anyone?

I'm still feeling icky, so probably just some poached or scrambled eggs, but upgrading to buttered rye toast.

I do want to make them when the tummy's better.
Thank you lily.
And mini, you knew someone would ask...

Now were talkin'!!! :yum: After 6 more weeks of winter I want him sauteed!

Im actually going to make my black bean tomato soup. Its easy, healthy and cheap!

I'm making potato pancakes.... I should probably be shredding potatoes and not searching for soft buns......

and the recipe for that bean soup is......????

In a nut shell, one can of black beans(14oz), one can of crushed tomatos (26oz), one small onion chopped, one thingy of cilantro diced, red wine, olive oil, good oregano, red pepper flakes...

Put the cilantro and onions in a pot and make em sweat with all the spices in the olive oil. Then drain the beans, put them in with the rest and add the wine, let it cook off for about 5-6 minutes then add the crushed tomato. Cook till hot again, stirring often, then take off the heat.

Now add salt to taste. Its nice with rice if youre so inclined. A very strong cheese would be great with it too.

I made Salmon with a lemon brown butter drizzled on top along with brown rice with cottage cheese (would never guess it was cottage cheese!) diced tomatoes, kalmata olives, lemon juice and cilantro. Very light and very yummy! :thumb: from my daughter and I!

Hey... thats not instant rice is it???

I just read in yesterdays paper, they had a seafood recipe with his spice and it got very high marks! As far as the rice, Im not sure about the nutrients.

Does anyone else know?

I made some chicken noodle soup from the freezer. Not doing so hot today. Ds is at work and dh went to play cards so no one to take care of me.

That's a nice sounding soup, Mojito. I like the way you wrote it up, too.

Dee......, Dee........ my GOD! That salmon looks fantastic!

Whats wrong? You still not feeling well huh?

You may be thinking of CalicoLady that has been sick the past couple days.........but I'm not feeling well either. Dh has had pneumonia the past 3 weeks, ds is coming down with something and I think I'm getting it too! The chicken soup should help though. Thanks for asking.

Nice!

Sorry your getting ill, homecook. I've been a lump since Saturday.
Four others I've been in contact with since last wed. are ill too.
We're going to argue who gave what to whom when we get better. LOL!

I feel like I got run over by a mack truck today. Huge inventory issues at work....I get the idea that my predecessors bumped up the numbers in order to achieve a better food cost. Not being learned in the book cooking techniques I just post what I really have...and look like I've misplaced 7000 bucks worth of product in the meantime... So, we went over it and over it and over it....

and on the way home, all I wanted was a chicken parm from Sal's Pizza. Naturally, now I have a tummy ache, but it was sure good going down.

As for the inventory...we're essentially starting at square one. I refuse to serve any book before it's time.

Heh, heh, heh....she said product.

I'm sorry you've inherited a big mess from your predecessor, Vera. Looks like you and our new Prez have a lot in common right now!

I actually did that just for Wart...I could have said inventory, but then again, I really do like to push that envelope...:poke:
