This sounds like fun! It came from my friend, Dan: Grab the book nearest you. Right now. * Turn to page 56. * Find the fifth sentence. * Post that sentence AS YOUR STATUS. AND POST these instructions in a comment to this status. * Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST book.

I figure, we don't have to post it as our status but we can post it in this thread.

Mine:

Fifth complete sentence on page 56 from "The Great Book of Chocolate The Chocolate Lovers's Guide With Recipes" by David Lebovitz

"Great White Heron, 39-52", p478"

It's actually the third "sentence", since the first half of the book is all photos.

from the "Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds, Eastern Region".

(And I can't find a picture of the bird I saw perching on a boat behind my store yesterday!)

"A human being is, terrifyingly, a creature who can have before him or her a real dog tenderly greeting his friend and fellow countryman, Patrick the Cat, and see flying above them a flag depicting a snarling two-headed monster devouring kittens, with a slogan on it reading "Kill All Pit Bulls" or "Defend the Faith" and believe in the monster more readily than in the dog."

If this game goes on, is it always supposed to be page 56, 5th sentence? In that case, it can’t always be the closest book since we may have the same book near us. Perhaps it should just be random page, random sentence.
