I’m putting in the original recipe and the substitutes to make it low carb.
1/4 c cornstarch (or xanthan gum)
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1tsp garlic powder and/or 4 minced cloves 😁
1/3 c soy sauce
1/2 tsp dried chicken or beef bouillon
1/2 c brown sugar (or substitute of your choice)
1 medium onion, diced
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes or gochujang
1 1/2 - 2 lb flank steak, round or chuck steak
In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well to make a marinade. Pour into crock pot. Place meat in marinade and let sit for 1 hr.
Turn on crock pot and cook for 6-8 hours on low or high for 4-6 hours.
Remove meat and cut into pieces (across the grain) or shred. Return meat to the pot.
Serve with rice or put in a lettuce wrap.
