What a serendipitous delight!

Went in to the Sox game yesterday, four hours early, but the Cask 'n Flagon had a half hour wait for lunch and the line to get in at Game On was 40 people long.

So, we looked half a block beyond Yawkey Way, to the Copperfield's sign and went in there. We were the first to arrive, sat at the empty bar, and ordered drinks (only $4.50 for bottled Miller Lite!!)

We asked about food, and were directed behind us, to a couple of people taking orders for subs: smoked brisket, pulled pork, or pulled chicken, at $7.00 each. The bartenders raved about the brisket, so we all got brisket subs. WONDERFUL!!!

I spoke with the young couple who were selling the sandwiches out of steam tables. They are a new competition team, and smoke the meats for their sandwiches on a Southern Pride cooker, then heat them up at Copperfield's on game days.

Copperfield's, their beer prices, and the BBQ sandwiches served on game days were all enjoyable surprises!

Photos are of the brisket sandwiches and my two friends, Kathy and Louise.

Really great pix. The brisket looks great. I Googled Southern pride cookers. Nice!

We had a BBQ place here that served really nice ribs and brisket. Wood fired. Sadly, something must have gone horribly wrong, because the windoes are all blackened and they are closed. Looks like a fire.

Outside the store chained to a phone pole is a beautiful stainless steel stick burner.

I would truly love to see a competition sometime.
