Chrysler files for chapter 11

Sorry to see it happen to any of the big 3 as they are really the end of US manufactures we have. I drive a Ford Mustang now but have owned other Fords. I have also owned a lot of Chevy's in my life and only two Chrysler cars a 61 Plymouth Fury, Hemi Cuda and a 71 Dodge Slant 6 I picked up for my wife brand new that made it one mile from the show room before throwing a rod. I've never looked at another Chrysler product since. I've owned about 5 Japanese cars and now have a KIA Van and rate them all about the same.

it seems chrysler has had more than it's share of financial problems, going back to when the Gov. bailed them out in the 70's. Bad leadership?

I say I better get that rattle fixed in my Jeep quickly (lol).
Chryslers are the one vehicle I have ever owned that I have had very little trouble with, if any. I've been buying Chryslers in one shape or form every 2-3 years since '87. I love the dealership I use, too. I sure hope it's not the end for them.

I have to agree with that as they always seem to be chasing Ford and GM which makes them always look like they are trying to catch up with the state of the art.

our family has owned chrysler products in one form or another since i can remember.

the first car i remember my dad driving was an old dodge coronet and then a 69 sport fury ragtop.. my grandpa always had dodge darts and never had a problem with them.

i have owned many dodges. old dodges will always be cars of choice. i personally think the quality & reliability just isnt there anymore as is with most car manufacturers nowadays.

i am sad that another big american company has to file chapter 11. it effects everybody, even if we all dont realize it.

My dad was a Desoto/Plymouth dealer in the 50's. Chrysler dropped Desoto but didn't bother warning the dealers in advance so they could position themselves. It took Dad every penny he had (and more) to get into the Lincoln/Mercury biz and start all over.

Chrysler Corp - screw 'em

No, I don't hold a grudge...... :yuk: :puke1:

Im not surprised. I never liked Chrysler or Dodge or PLymoth. The Ram trucks are OK. But the very poor quality they have especially in transmissions.

Ok I'm back, got busy there for a sec. This is not the end, in the 70's you had the big 3, AMC, Volkswagon, Dautson , BMW & Mercedes were there but high end and also Jags.

Back then the Big 3 were king of the hill in the USA.

Now you have:

Audi
Bmw
Saab
Range Rover
Volvo
Subaro
Honda
Hyandai
Nissan
Toyota
Jaguar
Mercedes
Volkswagon
Kia
Porscha
Fiat

Crhysler
Ford
GM

Also keep in mind we have only had 1 bad storm since Katrina, a good hurricane is always good for 200,000 plus vehicles.

When there are that many car mfg's its only a matter of time before you saturate the market, its not like they're cheeseburgers.

I forgot to say that I am against any tax payer bail out for the auto companies, both Govt and unions are at fault for this.

By the way a few of the cars listed are actually owned by the big 3. Jaguar for example is owned by Ford.

Yeah I know Joe, check out this video, Ford plant in Brazil. Pay very close attention as the plant demonstrates extreme genius .

Yeah, and about half of them with altered CarFax reports. I've seen it personally.

Carfax is 100% worthless crap! I bought a 97 Camry In 2002 at a stealership and it had a Carfax. Well a year later everything starts breaking mechanically. Turns out it was in a major rear collision.

Most of the CarFax problems come from body shops taking money under the table for not reporting.
