Well Buzz pulled out of here about 15 minutes ago now and has pictures he will post. We had a great time and a very good meal at good Mexican restaurant at Fayette Mall a couple of blocks from here. We all had a great time and looking forward to trying the bread and sweet rolls from JoeV tomorrow. Thanks again Joe.

It was my pleasure, Joe. Glad you guys finally got to meet in person.

Funny that this is the first time we have actually meet in person like I've been talking to him via the internet for about 3 years now.

What a fun time that was, Joe and Dawn. Your hospitality will never be forgotten.

Joe and I with some of our blades. Mine are a 300mm Hiromoto High Carbon Gyuto and a 12" Thiers-Issard Sabatier Chef's knife from the WWII era. Joe will have to ID his clevers.

Dawn likes knives too. I think this one is for tomatoes, garlic, and mushrooms.

Joe has more knives than anyone I know.

That's what great marriages are all about.........it's so refreshing to see!!

So you all went out to dinner.
What did you have?

I had a "senior" (not kidding) meal of chicken enchiladas and a fish bowl full of beer.

But it wasn't about the meal. Joe and Dawn are filled to the brim with wonderful stories of their past experiences. It was truly a night to remember.

It was said last night about a reuniting of old friends, and it happened again tonight. The Internet can be a magical place.

What did you have?

We went to a place called Abuelo’s, which is a Mexican restaurant. We all ate off the Senior's menu as they just give you way too much food. My wife had Tilapia Veracruz, I had the Enchilada and Taco combo and Buzz had the Chicken Enchilada. Buzz and I had some very large beer I can't spell, say or remember while Dawn just had water since she is the designated driver. We also got dips and chips and it was good to great as usual.

The bar has been raised to a new level. Pretty cool stuff Buzz. I need to figure how to do that with my camera. You may have created a monster.

Pretty cool. Nice read and great pics!

Now, where can I get a tomato slicer with a fish scaler on the back?
It looks like something from the Arkansas knifesmith, ala First Blood. :thumb:

Oh one of my tenants had it in his car and didn't know it. Being a convicted felon on probation he brought into the office and left it there. Longer story but that about covers it. BIG knife as my wife says.

Isn't that the berries, Joe? These newer digi cameras containing video recording modes add another dimension, and with YouTube and other sites doing the hosting there is no storage or bandwidth issue at NCT. The videos give a tad more incite into who we are than the still photos and it's fun to do.

Buzz - The migration of the great bird is certainly an journey to remember this year.

Thank You all for sharing.

I know you had to cancel a stop in NC due to H1N1 Buzz, are there any other hookups before you get to Naples?

So nice to see great friends meeting up like Buzz and Joe....Truly amazing what this forum can do...Way to go everyone here on NCT! Buzz, glad your trip is not just about counting the miles to get to where you are going...LOL.....Have a Safe trip...........

Thank you, thank you, Buzz, for the wonderful video! Joe, Dawn's laugh is musical and her smile is infectious. You are a very lucky man (besides being damn good looking)! It sounds like y'all had a great evening.

So happy for you, Joe and your dear wife, Dawn...to have met up w/the Buzz...Know you all had a very good time. Happy for all of you.:respect:

That is a lot of knives - I have under 10 and even then I get comments about do I need all those knives. Lovely couple, great to see you.

I have some where around 50 knives counting the junk knives in the drawer. My name is Joe and I'm an addict.

The funny thing is it all started due to the fact I used a cheap old Dexter cleaver and disposable paring knives for about 30 years. So 4 years ago my kids got together and bought me a set of Shun knives including the cleaver. Well when it came time to sharpen them I fell into the trap at Knifeforum.com and now I've been clean and sober for 2 years now. :whistling:

I might add that after all of the money I've spent for knives and stones to sharpen them. I still tend to use a cleaver and a paring knife, though much more expensive that the last 30 years. They do cut better though than my old dexter which I still own by the way.

I love cleavers, though I do not have any nice ones. I'm afraid until kids are done with schooling knives are not a priority, unfortunately.
