Yesterday was the last day out on the Smokin II before we all head north for the summer. I caught this Red Grouper on dead bait (thread herring). We didn't have a scale on board but he was fat like a Tuna and over 30 pounds without doubt. The biggest I had caught previously was 20 pounds. Great way to end the season.
Fran had me me grill part of a fillet, 7 minutes a side at 500+F
To give you an idea how thick the fillet was. The flakes were nearly a quarter inch thick.
