Beef Stew On Sourdough

1 lb stew beef
1/4 c butter
1/4 c AP flour

1 small onion-chopped
2 carrots-sliced
1 large stalk of celery-sliced
1 clove garlic-minced
1 bay leaf
1/2 t sugar
1/4 t paprika
1/8 t ground cloves
1/2 t lemon juice
1/2 t worcestershire sauce
2 c water

Coat beef with flour and saute in butter til browned.
Transfer to crock pot, and add remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook low 10 hrs~high 5 hrs.
Serve over thick slices of toasty, buttered sourdough bread.
 
Mmm sounds good. Kinda reminds of when we would make beef stew and cover with those Pillsbury Grand Rolls in a casserole dish then bake. Yum!
