so... I have some ribs waiting to be cooked... but I'm not sure how to do them... all I have is stove top and oven as the BBQ is out of propane and doesn't work very well any way.

How would you experts prepare them?

THANKS!:D

No expert here, but, how about making a foil pouch, dump BBQ sauce on them. In the oven for an hour at 350. Check for done. Hopefully fall off the bone done. Then maybe a couple minutes per side under the broiled to brown a bit and you are there. I. Skip the broiled an they are mega juicy.

or braise with stock/aromatics and some tomato sauce, unless you are going for a BBQ type of thing, replicating a grill experience. I would braise them for a couple of hours.

Well I do want to use the bbq sauce I just made... maybe add a little beef broth to the foil packet to keep them really moist??

THANKS Phiddlechik!

Ok! They are in the foil packet with onions, bbq sauce and some beef broth. I'll put them in the oven soon. Can't wait to try them. :)

Here's a couple of really good recipes for oven ribs:

Keltin's Easy Oven Ribs

Chow's dads Oven Ribs

Thanks for the nod Mama! My technique takes 4 hours or so and uses a low heat as if in a smoker. It's late now, and if lily means to cook tonight, I'd say go with Chow's recipe, or what Adillo suggested. Both techniques are similar and will produce good results in 2 hours or less. Good luck, and let us know how it turned out!

Pics are good.....hint, hint!

Another thing to do, if you have the time, is to cut the ribs into sections that will fit into a crockpot. Put a trivet in the crockpot, and stack the rib pieces on it. Do not add liquid! Turn the crockpot on high, and let it cook 4-6 hours, or until tender and the meat is pulling back on the bone. You can actually use the crockpot dry (no liquid) as a low heat, high humidity oven. I make meatloaf in mine all the time! Low and slow coooking without heating up your house! :thumb:
