Beanie Burgers
Sandwich and side dish all-in-one !
Vegetable oil
2 lb lean ground beef
2 cans (15 1/2 oz) BBq Baked Beans, (I use Bush's) or your favorite recipe
1/2 cup finely crushed Ritz crackers (about 14 crackers)
2 TBL barbecue sauce (I use KC Masterpiece)
1/2 tsp fresh-ground black pepper
1egg
8 wheat Kaiser rolls, split
3TBL BBq sauce
Sliced tomato and sliced onion, and lettuce leaves, if desired
4 TBL BBq sauce for roll tops
Heat gas or charcoal grill to med. / high heat. In large stainless steel
mixing bowl, mix beef, beans, cracker crumbs, 3 TBL BBQ sauce, pepper and egg.
Mix this well and shape into 8 patties of equal thickness.
Prepare grill rack with vegetable oil.
Place patties on grill; Cover
Cook over medium heat 5 minutes. Flip patties over and cook (covered) 5
longer or
to desired doneness.
Put lettuce leaf on bottom halves of split rolls, then the Beanies.
Top with tomato and onion. Slather the roll tops with BBq sauce.
Dig In !
