Yes, yes, I know it depends on the circumstances and to whom you are talking. The talker-listener continuum.

But, in GENERAL, most people are closer to one end of the continuum than the other.

Are you generally a talker or a listener?

I'm a listener and tend to stay a tad in the background in other than social conversation. I have very strong political and financial opinions only appreciated by half the people so unless pointedly asked I keep them to myself.
 
Totally a talker... have a hard time listening... unless I am under the influence of a certain herb... then I cannot talk at all... weird.
 
A listener here. You can discover a LOT about a person by simply listening. I usually only talk when asked - or I purposely started the conversation (fairly rare).
 
I'm a listener. When people start talking about their personal problems, to me, I usually can't get a word in edgewise, they just start spilling!
 
I once heard a proverb the "The Good Lord gave you two ears and one mouth, so you should listen twice as much as you speak." :lol:

I have been following that for a long time.
 
I think of myself as a listener, but that may not be the case...hubby had to attend a social occasion without me last week and came home complaining about how dull it was because I wasn't there. "You're the one who does all the talking," he claimed. Hmmm. Maybe I talk more than I realize.

This is me too. Luckily, my wife can talk enough for the both of us.
 
Listener for the most part but capable of doing both as per need. In person I'm pretty quite especially when around gathering of a lot of people.
 
Interesting that most folks are listeners, only a couple of talkers.

This forum didn't really start picking up until early 2009. Since then there have been over 196,000 posts.

Just imagine how many posts there would be if the members were talkers! :yum:

Well, I just looked at new posts, and the last poster on six out of 11 threads was ME. I guess I'm a talker TNT. Now it's seven...

I'm pretty much a gabber-fingers on forums, in person- not so much.
Just ask Biskit and some others who've talked to me.
Got a laugh that could crack paint, but I listen.. and care. :)
 
i'm a little of both, i guess. i have a lot of stories, but i seem to recall them based on what i've heard others say in a conversation.
