2 where banned just now from that other forum .

It took to long to get rid of them. JMO.

They where allowed to remain members & where totally disruptive to all members. Way to long. Month's in fact.

I don't know about ya'll who where & still are there & treated badly feel about it, but for me ,The way I was treated Its to little to late. :sorry:

I won't be a active member there anymore.

Poor admin..to let members be bullied ..
 
there's 3 to 4 forums, 2 on a dim basis, that i visit; i find most here kind. i mingle w/ the kind & avoid the rest.
 
Carolina, I saw that.. A little late for one. I can't remember much about the other one.
All the inflammatory posts are deleted..oh well, I look at that site, more out of curiosity, and to see how the regular, nice people are..Drama, meanness I don't need--entertainment and info, yes...
seems nice here..not afraid to post at all.. feel welcome

I guess Im a minority here, but threads like this, where SOME people know what is being discussed, but most don't... smack of elitism. Cheapens this place, IMHO.

And I wasn't aware that we weren't supposed to NAME another site if we were speaking badly of them. Apologies to that OTHER other site, from which many of us came, where cooking is discussed. (There named without being named. LOL)

OK rant over, won't mention it again.

So sorry Kimchee!! It just occured to me that people on NCT might think we were talking of DC. BUT alas no thats not the case. You are probably aware by now the "other" forum is cooking.com. I as some others here post there also. BUT ................. NCT is by far the most friendly and welcoming cooking forum I have been to. Many other forums have crazy rules and enforce them in a biased fashion.

Kimchee, the way those of us in the know found out was to PM the new members, and share the info with others who asked. Which is what we did with you.

We try REALLY hard to be a polite forum, and try really hard to be inclusive of everyone.

Sorry you felt left out, but it wasn't for very long.

OH BTW In 2 cases (on 2 different forums I post on) I have personally seen if you mention other forums then the one you are posting on someone jumps down your throat and throttles you LOL That is probably the reason some didn't want to give it a name. JMHO
 
Being a proud new member of the not-to-be-mentioned competition ;), I am happy
to report that there is an official thread announcing the banning of the contentious
members.... so maybe it is Happy there again.

Like I NEEDED another cooking forum... they force me to read them, and then my wife
complains because I don't get work done, my dogs starve because I cant fix them dinnner for reading, and my cats have to eat bugs for the same reason.

I hate the way it is set up over there. All the recipes are thrown into 1 forum called recipe exchange. I can't find anything over there. There are other forums dedicated to what a few have an interest in and are in charge of.
 
AND when someone suggests a new forum they are knocked down. Like today someone suggested a diet or healthy foods forum and was basically told that that idea stunk! And at least 1 of those was a mod!

I saw that too. That poster :glare: (mod) :poke:.. Know it all ..Rude as all get out. One of the first things I did when I came here was to look up 3 names . None where here. hahaha

I almost Pm'ed him .. hey I might still do it.

Oh ya admin would have given that whack job a knife forum but not a low calorie, diet, heathy food one.

I tried to like that forum. Although I liked most of the people there, I just didn't like the way it was set up. It's like everything is just crammed together. Like the dinner thread...a months worth of dinners...if you like a particular post, how are you supposed to go back and find it?
 
As long as everyone who is here, is HERE.. why not just stay HERE?
I am not a "foodie" by any stretch of the imagination.
Honestly, I don't get why some of you folks belong to half a dozen cooking forums, and put up with the grief that comes along with bad moderation and anything else that comes along with shitty members and half-assed jokers who run those places.

This, IMO is the only forum for cooking, fun and whatever you please.
I have joined others, but what goes on is questionable.
Forget about other places all you who feel uncomfortable elsewhere.
But...Like FooD suggested, if you want to be there, then play along and be nice.
