1 3-5 lb beef roast
1 pkg dry brown gravy mix
1 pkg dry italian salad dressing mix
1 pkg dry hidden valley ranch dressing mix
1 c water

Put roast in crock pot.
Blend all the dry mixes with a fork and sprinkle ontop of roast.
Pour water over and around the roast.
Cook low 8 hrs.
 
I make something similar to this. I add a pkg. au jus instead of the brown gravy. When it's done I shred it and we have it on kaiser rolls. My sil calls it Italian Beef.
It's really good.....
 
Barb, my friend, what is the difference between au jus pkgs and brown gravy packs? Often wondered myself. I cannot really tell much difference between the two when I use them to make gravy.

Au jus is more like broth for dipping, gravy just be gravy. :D
