2 Bean Chili

2 t bacon drippings
1 lb ground beef
3 large cloves of garlic- chopped
1 large onion- chopped
1 bottle dark beer
1 15 oz can crushed tomatoes (and juice)
1 16 oz can kidney beans (and juice)
1 16 oz can Pinto Beans (and juice)
3 T chili powder
1 T cumin
1 1/2 t black pepper
1/4 c water

In dutch oven cook beef, onions and garlic in bacon drippings and drain.
Add the rest of the ingredients-cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Before serving, top with additional chopped onion, hot sauce, sharp cheddar and even a dollop of sour cream if you like.

My chili today is close to this. I used olive oil, leftover ribeye steak, Hamm’s beer, fire roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, and no water.
