15 Bean Soup with Smoked Pork Neck Bones

This receipe is very similar to one that Lora posted last month, and is probably why I wanted to make it.

I used one package of meaty smoked pork neck bones (I really love those!) and made the recipe in the crockpot with water, not broth. And I used a can of regular diced tomatoes, not fire-roasted (I was afraid the latter might be too spicy).

Absolutely delicious! Kathy had never had 15 bean soup and she was crazy about it (thank God, since it made a full 6 quart crock and I sent her home with almost half of it.)

I made some store brand buttermilk biscuits that were not good. But the soup was magnificent!

The beans were so beautiful after soaking over night that I had to take a picture.

I used 3 of the longest carrots I've ever seen!

Beautiful, Lee. What was the weight of the pork neck bones?
I bet this would taste good with smoked turkey wings also.
