And yet, I usually err on the side of caution, as these things seem to be "expanded" over time. Just be aware?

That's my preferred too. If I can't find Tillamook, I'll go for a Wisconsin. Other brands tend to be too soft for shredding, at least that's been my experience.

Tillamook is just like the bettergoods line @ Walmart.
Both in appearance and taste.

I usually shred my own cheese too, but I can definitely understand reaching for the pre-shredded bag when I’m in a hurry. The convenience is hard to beat, especially when you’re cooking something that calls for a lot of cheese. I hadn’t realized this recall covered such a wide distribution area, though. Definitely worth checking the package before using it.
