GORP is just another name for Trail Mix. There is no recipe. You just mix up whatever you have. Peanuts, raisins, cheerios, and m&ms are pretty standard. But any nuts, dried fruits, chocolate bits, small cereal, small crackers, coconut, etc, are often used. You just dump stuff in a baggie...

G.O.R.P. - how we used to refer to Good Old Raisins and Peanuts when we were in Girl Scouts. Everyone from the Girl Scouts, to the Boy Scouts, to the Swedes, to a pair of California hikers takes credit for inventing it. Whatever its origins or the recipe, it's hard to beat!

    Hearts of Palm salad

Read note in the other thread. I found it too tart and added some honey to taste. It softened the bite.

What's cooking Sunday Oct. 10 to Saturday Oct./16/2021

I got the recipe from Eric Ripert’s new book. Rather than type it, I took a pic . Let me know if you can’t read it, I’ll type it up. I thought it was very good, but too tart. I added some honey to taste to take off the sharp edge.

What's cooking Sunday Oct. 10 to Saturday Oct./16/2021

I just stuck to it rigidly. I’m Nooming. In 3 months I only went over 1 time, plus I went to the gym every single day. Right now I just need a break from it. I’m going to give it a rest for a week or so, then back on until I go to France in November. the goal is another 20 pounds.

What's cooking Sunday Oct. 10 to Saturday Oct./16/2021

I’ve been dieting for the last 3 months, so food was boring. Lost 21 pounds and made a decent dinner last night. Filet mignon cooked to a perfect medium rare, topped with a red wine Demi glacé and wild mushroom smoked salt flakes. Puréed carrots. Hearts of palm with a mustard vinaigrette.

This one is tonight. Lots of roasted Veggies, carrots, Brussels sprouts, golden beets. Cake and tomato salad. Shrimp on the griddle with berbere seasoning. Not a very pretty plate, but tasty.
