The 1939 radio show "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" marked the first appearance of the product mascot Popsicle Pete !
As part of a promotion on the 1939 radio show, Popsicle Pete told listeners that they could win a present by sending product wrappers to the manufacturer. He acquired a body made of a double popsicle and promoted Popsicle products for the next 50 years at which point the company was bought out by Good Humor. By then he was promoting the brand in Canada, which he continued to do until 1996.
