Is Wax Paper Edible?

Hey everyone,

I've been using wax paper a lot for baking and storing food, but I'm not sure if it's safe to eat food that's been in direct contact with it. I've heard different opinions on this topic and I'm hoping someone here can help clarify: Is wax paper safe to eat?
(According to good wax paper is safe to eat!)

I'm especially worried about the type of wax used and any health risks from eating food that has touched it. Any tips or advice on using wax paper safely in cooking would be greatly appreciated!

No, wax paper is not edible . It's coated with wax, which is not meant to be consumed.

While the wax itself might not be toxic, it's not designed for digestion and can cause digestive issues if ingested.

Always use wax paper for its intended purpose – to prevent food from sticking to surfaces.

If you're looking for a safe and edible alternative to wrap food, consider parchment paper. It's designed for high-heat cooking and is safe to come into contact with food.
