TRUTH !!
Ruth, who was arguably the best player in the game for most of his 22-year
career, was only a two-time All-Star because the first game wasn't played
until 1933. Ruth was an All-Star in 1933 and 1934, and retired in 1935 after
playing only a few games with the Boston Braves. Ruth hit the first home run
in All-Star game history, blasting a two-run shot off Bill Hallahan on July
5, 1933, to put the American League up 3-0 in the third inning of the game.
Ruth's team eventually won 4-2.
