did a 9x9 dish about 1/3 of this recipe

https://www.marthastewart.com/1165429/jewish-deli-strata

stunning. absolutely stunning. smash the diet and don't worry about it stunning....

9x9 glass pan;

4 shingled layers of seeded rye, full slice;half slice each
do not scrimp on the smoked salmon. used 3 ounces of LascCo; more needed.
4 eggs
grated DaneKo havarti cheese - oh dear...so good a cheese....
4 ounces by wt (half container) Vermont Creamery creme fraiche
milk to suit... didn't measure....
overnight in the fridge
fresh dill - courtesy of the AeroGarden

start at 375'F but open door to spill heat and reduce to 300'F at 20 minutes for another 15 minutes. it's like an omelet - insufficient bake=gooey under egg liquid.

not a big Martha fan; she did do a tour of the Beaverkill area and gave good marks to Beaverkill Valley Inn, previously Bonnie View, which was built by my great-grandfather&brothers, and operated by my grand-parents for many years... so she gets a temporary pass....

but I still bet I had more fun there than she did. Rockefeller bought it and my great uncle's dairy farm up the hill.... he gets my unrestricted pass for spending kabillions to preserve and conserve the buildings and property.
