BAKED BBQ LIMAS

3 cans (15 oz) lima beans or butter beans
3/4 pound pork sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 16 oz cans tomato sauce
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
3 tablespoons brown sugar
Brown the sausage, onion and garlic. Add tomato sauce, mustard
and brown sugar. Cook for a few minutes. Add lima beans, cover​
and bake in oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

I'm on my third or fourth iteration of this recipe -

it's definitely one of the best.

given: we're fond of limas, not all folks are so inclined - even tho they never ate one....

tweaked . . .

well, perhaps in a minor sense.

I use either fresh limas or dried beans - cut the whole thing in half

tweak vs a rigid "by half":
1/2 lb sausage
2 tb brown sugar
8 oz tom sauce
half an onion
mustard - dunno, never measured it. big squirt....

it's also become a "do ahead one day dish" - make it; let it meld; then reheat.

I'll serve it beside anything myself...
any time fish is prepared on the stove top,
but I'm really partial to these on hot dog or sandwich nights.................

Really, tho', any time you would serve Baked Beans............
