My wife's people will be here for Christmas Eve, and they are descendents of Irish immigrants. In the spirit of my late FIL, Johnny Gibbons, I'm doing a 7-course Irish dinner for each of them....a 6-pack and a boiled potato.:brows::bonk::ohmy: (I just know I'll pay for that one.)

Oh! That is so darn funny! :yum:

We have a great friend Mary! She is Irish....grew up in Manhatten NYC, and we nicknamed her "Irish!" ... She always jokes when Tina asks her what the heck she is cooking for supper, and she says,"Boiled Dearie, us Irish boil everything, and so tonight it'll be Boiled beef and Pataytas be Jeepers!!" .....

I could go for that Christmas Eve dinner Embryodad - the rest of my family are not keen on shellfish so I get it very often.

Our Christmas Eve meal - lamb rump steaks, oven fries, onion rings, battered mushrooms & broccoli.

Tomorrow, we are having turkey and ham, roast potatoes, roast medley of veg, carrots, brussel sprouts, various stuffings, gravy & bread sauce. Followed by Christmas pud & Vienetta

Sounds Good peep! How'd it come out?

I don't want to even mention cheesecake here.

DD made two for the Thanksgiving. One was a recipe from Mama Leones from NYC that I got from a friend that his girl worked there, or wherever it was made.
DD threw sliced apples all over the top, and the darn cake puffed up like a balloon, and took forever to bake. It was a disaster.
The other one was ok...but it was with peanutbutter in it.

I like CHEESE Cake period. :)

It brings a tear to my eye to see a man and his jug-o-dago red. Sniff, sniff.

I see you had cod on the menu. Did you make the Bacalao? My father used to make it every Christmas. Have not had it in more than 20 years.

Dinner was good. I baked the cod instead of frying it. Stuffed! Waiting on dessert.

It was opened and I could tell by the vapors of alcohol, it was potent.
Holy Cow.... Just one glass full, and I was half S' Faced. Good grape..a little on the sweeter side, but definetely potent. By the time I started the second glass....it was a good thing I started to eat. Tina said,"Hon...Mind your manners...the food is dropping out of your mouth.

Darn it....I couldn't even feel my lips. hahahahaha.... I took a shut eye after we ate, and I'm up and wide awake now! Hungry as a hog too!....

No more wine though! Enough for today! Tomorrow with the lasagna will be some more!
Haaaaaa... Tina took a sip, and her whole face got red with blotches.
The cod was some fresh that I made in with the fish stew.
Baucala will be for New Years Eve! Tina has to get the dried and salted one. I don't like the fresh one. I made it with the fresh once, and it just didn;t have the taste. Or Smell! LOL

Your family knows how to put out a spread! The lobster bisque is calling my name.

Peep, I'd love to see the clams casino if you got a shot of them.
Beautiful pics Jimmy!!

Cooksie, I didn't take any new pics but I have an old one. The only difference is that I used panko crumbs this time.
