Default Kentucky Derby Party - all appetizers

Another fun excuse for a party! We did wear hats for the race, but I didn't get a shot of us in them.

The entire Kentucky-inspired menu was delicious, including the mint juleps.

Jan and I made (Dad and Ann's mom, Phyllis, were our sous chefs):

Mini Kentucky Hot Browns
Two kinds of deviled eggs: some with horseradish and bacon, some with pickle relish
Brown-butter Rosemary Pecans (this is a keeper recipe!)
Pimento Cheese Spread on Cucumbers
Bourbon Shrimp
Kentucky Legend Ham (not pictured)
Mint Juleps (not pictured)

Also not pictured was the SPECTACULAR homemade Bourbon Strawberry Shortcake, which Jan and Ann made for breakfast Sunday morning! Best biscuits I ever had! I must ask for the recipe!

Excellent, and fun, we love having finger food over the course of the afternoon and evening.

Sat on the porch, overlooking the pond, in the sun.

Played pool.

Watched the 1980 version of "The Shining" (hadn't seen it in 35 years ... SO good!)

Nice spread! Now you've got me wanting some pimento cheese.
