I had lobster thermidor that blew my mind!
The cheesy garlic mash and asparagus was wonderful too.
Didn't take any pics.
Was dining with my son and his lovely lady. Didn't want to embarrass them Lol

This evening will be beef burgers in brown gravy/peppers and onions.
Maybe over rice or just with another side.
Worked all night and feeling a tad woozy after 2 hr nap.
What day is it? Lol

did the bison last night - 3 min sear on both sides, 18 min @ 250'F oven.
frankly, I'd need a side by side comparison to tell the difference from run-of-the-hoof beef.....


altho label "steak" it was a cut with the muscle fibre running horizontal. so when sliced it made for short grained tender pieces.

My boys were over yesterday, replacing the storm door on the sun porch..
They weren't done till late, much too late to cook, so I had to order in, from a Chinese place I don't normally use...


Scallops in Garlic Sauce - The scallops were sliced to a thinness that rendered them almost unrecognizable... BOO !
But the sauce was the most flavorful I've had in ages... YAY !

Not at all fancy.
In fact, it's quite plain.
But it sure was good on this cool, rainy Monday.
Onion gravy pan burgers, Knorr rice blend and mixed veg.

Dinner last night roast turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cold fresh string bean salad (olive oil, fresh garlic, salt, ground pepper & lemon), cranberry sauce and pan gravy.

Last night Nancy made chicken and dumplings using almond flower for the dumplings and they were excellent. I failed to take a picture.

Tonight I'm grilling brats with kraut on the side.

Already got a change of plans here.
DIL is going to her card night with the gals.
They're getting pizza or Chinese.
I'll just dig around in the freezer for something.
We've got Van's frozen pork egg rolls and her ever present container of rice.
So, that I think.

Yesterday I pulled a corned from freezer.

Last night's dinner was corned beef (so tender cooked in Instant Pot in a short time), potatoes and cabbage.

We had spicy peanut butter sauce chicken with spozoodles (spiralized sweet potato and zucchini noodles). It was NOT a pretty dish but was very good. A definite make again.

It could even be vegan if you used tofu instead of the chicken.

TWO Grilled Hot Dogs, one Ketchup & Red Onion, One Mustard & Relish, and a mess of Pinto's w/ Bacon, from my freezer stock... and a small Salad w/ Thousand Island...

Two and-a-half pounds heavier this A.M. :whistling:

Probably too much sodium, with resultant water retention. Got to watch that especially with prepared foods, even more so with prepared cured foods like bacon and hot dogs.

Last night we had our friends, Ann and Andy, over for my annual Oktoberfest dinner - brats, red kraut, white kraut, german potato salad, bubbly, bier, and pear brandy. I did white brats and Trader Joe's bock bier brats. We got the brochen at the German grocery store in Lakewood. I made my own curry ketchup for the white brats.

Pho. Homemade pho broth, thinly sliced beef tenderloin, baby bok choy, shi-taki, beech and enoki mushrooms, green onions, and craig had red bird chili in his.
