CARROT HOT DISH

12 sliced carrots
1 sm. onion, minced
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 lb. processed sharp Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. ground pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. celery salt
3 c. buttered fresh bread cubes

Cook carrots 15 minutes; drain. Melt butter with onion; add ground beef, flour, salt,

dry mustard, milk, pepper and celery salt; cook until smooth.
Place carrots, sauce and cheese in greased 2 quart casserole and top with bread.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

pretty much everything from today is Granny's, and it's all worthwhile (except I'm skipping over most of the hominy dishes, LOL)

LT, I ran across this and see ground beef in the instructions but not the list of ingredients.

Do you omit it? If not, do you use about a pound and brown it?

I haven't made this in a long while... but yes, 1 lb Ground Beef, browned.


I see the recipe is incomplete.... let me try to fix it....

BTW are the two pepper entries in red both ground black pepper?

I don't know why She wrote the pepper up that way, Peeps...
I do remember that I ignored the first pepper entry, and yes, I used a Pepper Grinder for the other.... This was 2009, when those little individual spice grinders were popular.
