I'm making neither of what I'd suggested.
I do have some Hebrew National franks in puff pastry.
Those and baked beans.
I'm in the mood for easy today.
Doesn't sound like the best Sunday dinner, but.. there you go lol

I had Nathan's franks in puff pastry and peanuts for brunch.

Still not sure what dinner will be. I kinda want to make split pea and ham soup. I have several pints of ham stock in the freezer.

Wow, the pastry on these things has a weird puff power.
They puff more where the pastry laps over.
One completely fell off when I picked it up.
Still, they're delicious little things.
There were 32 in the box in separate trays.
I'll eventually snack on the rest, but next time I'll do pigs in a blanket with blue tube croissants and Nathan's, tyvm... :twak: :yum:

I like Nathan's pigs in a blanket. Hebrew National gives me wicked heart burn.

These are little kosher beef franks, with quite a strong flavour, Peeps.
I'm with you on Nathan's from now on.

I had HN several times and heartburn every time.
I like to make my own homemade with puff pastry sheets and cocktail franks.

Hebrew National is a all-beef, kosher dog.
not a "hot dog" as USA defined - more a "beef sausage"

Oscar Meyer uncured "classic" has the same taste as a 1950's hotdog - but some half the fat.

Hebrew National - 97%(?) fat free - lives up to it's 'low fat' name - it's a sausage with decent taste, but it is not your father's hot dog.

having been condemned to a 'low fat' diet, I'm a fan of the Oscar Meyer uncured flavmour - half the fat of a regular hot dog - same taste....

Thanks Chowder.
Hors d'oeuvre is what these are, more or less.

Back to work for me today.
I'll eat whatever is on their menu.

Fruit salad (fresh cantaloupe, strawberries, banana, canned peaches, a small drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar) snack last night and again for breakfast today.

Hey, great idea, Sass!

I have half a package of those pre-made pigs in blankets in the freezer. Good idea how to use them up!

Ayam panggang (Indonesian grilled chicken) with jasmine rice, Javanese carrot and cucumber salad (pickled), and sambal kecap made with homemade kecap mannis. It was really good. Need to work on the salad/pickled veges though.

tonight was chunks of the steelhead trout from Costco.
now....steelhead are genetically = rainbow trout that have 'gone to sea'
how 'farmed steelhead' accomplishes that feat,,, no clue.
but the proof is in the eating:
IMG_0688.jpg
I much prefer wild caught, but steelhead is threatened/endangered from over fishing, so I'll go with farmed as available.....

that confirms my suspicion - the farmed steelhead never see salt water . . .
any salt water intrusion into the river ends at the Bonneville Dam, and their fish farm is in Nesplem - far above the dam.....

Last night was stove top grilled thin sirloin steak and steamed baby spinach.

I had the last of Monday nights corned beef for breakfast.

I baked a Pizzagaina this morning.

We ordered Hibachi for lunch (not sure how big the portions are so leftovers will be for tomorrows breakfast and/or lunch).

Split pea and ham soup is planned for tonight.

I put the ribs on a bed of sliced onions, then poured 1/2 bottle of bbq sauce on.
4 hrs on high, but may be done before then.
Also mashed reds, "gravy" will be the sauce made by cooking the ribs.
Fresh asparagus too.
No more of the canned spears.
Even my Maddie won't eat those.
"I don't like the green sticks, Nana." lol

I've been asked to work from 6p-2a today, so I'll eat leftovers before I go in, or make a Stouffer's tuna noodle casserole single serve from frozen.

I've never seen Stouffer's tuna noodle casserole in my stores.
