Three slices, and they are soft, the way she likes them.

I like them crunchy, so when you dunk them in coffee, they half melt, half crunch in your mouth.

How should I make my slices crunchy?

I have never done it BUT heres what I would do. Low oven like 200F - 250F place on a rack in a sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes turn them over and bake for another 3 minutes. Check for hardness. Proceed from there till you get it the way you like it. WARNING: BE SURE TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM SO THEY DON'T BURN.

I agree with Peeps. I haven't done this before, but I've made biscotti, and it sounds like a good plan.
