THX, QSis !

Oiled 'em up ever so slightly - Did a 'Shake and Bake' with a mix of salt, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder and Sweet Paprika..... Grilled on a Flat Cast-Iron, three Minutes a Side ....

Lucky, I was so impressed with that squash that I didn't want to lose it. Started a thread of its own.

I'm going to make that!

Thank you!

Lucky, was the pan dry or did you put some sort of lube in it?

No, but I put a drop of oil on each medallion, and again before playing side two ........

I probably didn't have to do that, as the Squash supplies some moisture as it cooks........

Okay, thanks, LT.

I picked up 3 small squashes at the Farmer's Market today and am hoping to try out your prep on Saturday.

Hmmm, well, although my squash was tender and flavorful, they didn't brown as nicely and as evenly as yours did, Lucky.

What did I do wrong, Coach?

I prepped the slices about an hour in advance of cooking them. Maybe too much oil was absorbed into the flesh?

Got the pan smoking hot on the stove; had to dial it back a bit.

The seasonings stuck to my dry cast iron pan, and I had to scour it and re-season it.

I have one more squash and want to try it again. Think I should use Pam?

Give it a try.......... My seasonings didn't stick much, but most of the browning you see was the spices...........

Maybe a light spray, lower heat and longer on each side........

I'll have to do it again, and see if I get the same result .......

I'm not a very good coach, tho' ..........but I'm pretty good at shooting in the dark ........:bonk:
