I learned a valuable lesson yesterday....You Get What You Pay For. I should know that, but I was just being cheap, cheap, cheap . Never again.

The chicken quarters that I bought on Thursday were an ordeal. When I pulled them from the bag to cook them, I discovered that they had half of the back portions attached to each quarter. It's like they cut out the middle of the back and just left the other pieces attached.

By the time I was finished cleaning them all up, I just said screw this and vacuumed sealed and froze them. It was a 10 lb bag .

It's pretty warm in here. Dinner will be whatever can be microwaved or cold. I'm thinking Bob Evan's mashed potatoes and store prepared sautéed broccoli rabe. If I want something else I think I have some brie and Triscuits.

Another sesame-encrusted tuna steak, with mashed rutabaga and Johnny West's delicous roasted beet salad http://www.netcookingtalk.com/forums...highlight=Beet

Delicious meal!

Side note - I just don't know how much longer this bad luck streak is going to last but I/we can't take much more. Yesterday the car died. Waiting to hear from Pep Boys. Now we have no place to get relief from the heat.

Peeps, don't you have friends or family you could hang out with until things come together with the car and cooling your home?

I might eat a little something before I go into work tonight.
Or have an early dinner around 4.

I agree with what Jimmy says.
Peeps, you have to find a way to keep cool in the meantime.
If it's any consolation, it's going to cool down here this weekend.. and you all eventually will get the same weather.

Jimmy, I love that bread too.
A sandwich is only as good as the bread it's made with.
My Grandmother always said that.
