I'm making some Italian bread bowls to fill with potato soup on this rainy day.

Oh Man! I'd love to have some rain today. It's over 100.

It's awfully muggy though.

Here's dinner: The homemade Italian Bread made wonderful bread bowls!

You've found right place! We've got lots of great bakers here!

I've noticed that Mama. This winter I'll try it again. My problem is baked goods are one of my favorite things to eat, but I'm overweight and a little diabetic. oh and I have no willpower to say no to loaf of fresh baked bread.

LOOKS really good mama.

GEEPERS.... I wonder how that bowl would be filled with spaghetti and meatballs and sauce!...
That would be fun, taking bites of bread. My face cheeks would be full of sauce. :yum:

SEE uncle Tony ( The Plumber") up there in the avatar space? HE opened his lunchpail, and his sister packed it full with spaghetti and sauce. No Dish, or bowl.
Just the spaghetti in the lunch pail!

OK... It was mashed potatoes for mommytina...and she made them.

I put three hamburgers on the grill, and ate my two with pickles on the side.

Tina will eat hers later. ( uh! if it's still there and someone else doesn't wave his magic wand, and make it disappear!

No pics. Battery on charge for the camera.. darn it!

Jimmy, you and Tina have a talented family. I know that you both know how blessed you are. Pork steaks are one of my favorite meals. I use them for stir fry, pork stew and I bread them then pan fry them in oil. They are the most flavorful part of the piggy, IMHO.

We worked all weekend cooking for other people, so tonight was leftovers & baguettes from Saturday & a spinach salad with goodies on it.

Had a great time and food for Tina's Birthday second celebration.

DIL and Daughter did a great job.

DIL cooked the sausage and peppers and fries and corn dogs.

The Star Birthday Girl was in Bed with her injury. We took good care of her, and she enjoyed just having the kids over and having a good time.

Very Nice! :)

As for my dinner, the chicken stock cooked down all day, and I now have some great stock to work with. I put the extra in the freezer.

I learned that Rižot (risotto) is a dish you need to pay attention to so the consistency is just right - not too dry, not too wet. Kind of like Jambalaya.

Here it is, Chicken Rižot with steamed broccoli, tossed salad and baguettes.

a few noms~
-tuna salad on mesclun greens/iceberg lettuce; tomato bisque; baby carrot, pop
-chix & potato, pop (not sain' how i typed 'pop' b-4 proof-reading.)
-macaroni/cheese, milk, pop
there was plenty of other food.
for hosp. food, it's usually much better than a few places offer. the menu is beyond sufficient there.

mama, i must say most of the food is great for food u get on a tray. they keep kinda high standards w/ dietary aspects. dieticians/nutritionists. one said they hafta ingest the food b-4 placing it on thier menu. jimmy, the dietary mgmt. is strict. classes, on & on, 4 dieticians, etc.

they give 'oops' food here & there, tho replace the item, etc. i luv that u can call on a whim, & there's ur food. peak hours, i ring in advance. then u get newly-cooked food, miss the flood of calls they get, get prompt delivery, & they get ur order correct.
it arrives via person/programmed machine. that machine knows where to take food. ~shudder~ ain't 'star wars', hehe.

Hope you get well soon, luvs!

I'm probably going to go meatless tonight - squash casserole, crowder peas, and a marinated salad.

OK! I took the Crutches away from this girl, and put her to work in the kitchen.

She did a massively beautiful job cooking the Pork Butt Steaks, and Potatoes!

A little love, and lots of time and This meal bloomed into a great one! The meat just separated right off the bone, and the little bit of fat stayed in the pan.

She even made a side order of Ziti....Ummmmm!!!
