Peep's Breaded & Fried Mushroom Caps
(All to taste and according to number of mushroom caps you have)
Dredge flour:
Egg wash:
- Whole button mushroom caps
- Peanut oil (or oil of choice, I tried bacon fat this time)

Dredge flour:
- All Purpose flour
- Peanut flour - Optional
- Flaxseed meal - Optional
- Ground sea salt
- Ground peppercorns
- Ground red pepper flakes
Egg wash:
- Beaten Egg
- Milk (or buttermilk)
- Ground sea salt
- Ground peppercorns
- Panko Unseasoned bread crumbs
- Oregano
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Goya Adobo Seasoning
- Ground Sea Salt
- Ground peppercorns
- Ground red pepper flakes
- Cayenne
- Paprika
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Fresh grated Romano cheese
- Fresh grated Parmesan cheese
- Accent - Optional
- Heat oil heavy pan (I used cast iron pan) or deep fryer.
- Wash mushroom caps and trim stems.
- Mix the ingredients for the 3 breading stages in separate trays/bowls.
- Dredge mushrooms in the flour.
- Then dip in egg wash.
- Then coat in crumb mix.
- Drop mushrooms in oil and fry 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Drain and serve hot.
