Thanks everyone.
She's going to be ok with the medication they have to start her on, and more tests.
She had several seizures, which had not happened since she was a baby.
Thanks again.
Sass..... I can relate that experience. My daughter at 16, started gran mal seizures from a brain viral infection. It was a horror.
They had her on dilantin and Ativan, and tried phenobarbital. We finally flew her to New Hampshire to a place that specialised in that.
They found out, she was allergic to Dilantin. They used Tegretol and that worked. She was released after a year, and stayed on Tegretol for two years.
She never had an episode since. She has behavior issues, but we can thank god we can put up with it....
Research done by the post hospitals Doctor for Aftercare, found out the infection entered the brain from a bad sinus infection. They told us to get her to a doctor, as soon as her sinus gets infected. The brain, is only 1/8 inch away from the sinus cavity. We never knew that.
Anyway Our Prayers are with the child and the family.
