OOOOOOHHHHHHHH BARBIE BARB!!!!

Are these ever great!
they remind me of the "cookies" my Dad would make us with his extra pie dough..... sprinkled on some cinnamon sugar, cut in squares and bake. YUM!

I will have pics in a little while.... I only have my phone camera working and the easiest way is to get them on facebook first then copy...... but facebook is BROKEN!!!! OH NO!!

Well, some of them exploded, but they were good!
I ran out of cheese filling, so I used some apricot preserves, then DD decided strawberry would be good

Barb, you are fueling the fires of the squares of dough folded over or circles with a thumbprint at the MGJ compound.

My Hungarian mother in law used this recipe.

1 pkg of cream cheese, softened
1 cup butter, softened
2 1/4 cups flour

Mix well and divide into four balls. Rest in the refrigerator over night so the flour relaxes.

Roll out the dough between sheets of wax paper until it is 1/4" thick. Cut into squares.

She used different fillings. One was crushed pineapple with the juice reserved. She's add sugar to the pineapple until it was sweet enough to her taste. She'd add around a Tbs of corn starch to thicken the pineapple adding juice as needed.

She made these for my wedding reception in pineapple and apricot. They didn't last very long.

When they were finished cooking she'd sprinkle them with powdered sugar.

Barb sent me a box of her baked goods samplings one year at Christmas time.
These were included and were superb!
