LuckyTrim sent me a bunch of chili recipes (thank you, LT!) and the title of this one caught my eye, thinking of luvs.

The recipe looks fantastic! Could be my next chili venture!

PITTSBURGH CHILI

16 oz. can butter beans
16 oz. can baked beans
16 oz. can kidney beans
8 slices bacon
2 med. onions
1 lb. ground beef
1 green pepper
1 can tomatoes
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tbsp. mustard
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic salt

Brown beef in skillet and drain grease. Brown bacon and cut into small pieces (about 1/2 inch size). Saute onions and green peppers if desired.
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat for 45 minutes. This recipe works well in the slow cooker as well.

my Aunt has made this, lee, & it was delicious. someone else made a batch recently, too.
usually we make chili w/ cheaper cuts of braised meat or cook burger, add both lt. & dk. kidney beans, tomato, & seasoning. others skip the beans & use meat. either way, this seems  & i'm getting groceries tomorrow. hm.

another thought- those could be calico beans. we often use a strikingly similar recipe to the 1 you've posted, lee.

Luvs, I always put kidney beans in my chili, but I am intrigued with adding butter beans and baked beans as well!

A VERY bean-y chili!
