Greek Lamb Kebabs

1 lb lamb cut in 1-2 inch cubes
1 small onion quarterd
1-2 lemons juiced
approx 1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp basil dried
1/2 tsp oregano dried
1/4 tsp sumac (more if preferred)
kosher salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp minced garlic

Preheat oven to 425-450 or broil if preffered
Marinate lamb pieces in said ingredients except onion for approx 1/2 hr, meanwhile soak enough wooden skewers in warm water to prevent burning.

Skewer meat onto wooden skewers alternating with onion pieces. Put into baking dish and top with 1/2 of left over marinade. Bake for approx 20 mins while keeping an eye on it. Top with remaining marinade half way into baking. Kebabs should be done when they start to get browned and crispy around edges. If broiling, they should be done in half the time...keep a close eye so they dont overcook and dry out!

Serve with a nice Greek salad and other choice of sides! :mrgreen:

wow, dee! yummmmm. this would go great on the grill.

had to google sumac. never heard of it as a spice. thanks. ya learn somethin new everyday.
