Freezing green beans without blanching

uhmmmmmmmm, don't tell anybody......but......

typical green and yellow wax - they gets themselfs picked, I use a mega knife to whack off the stem/blossom ends bunches at a clip, from the cutting board directly into a freezer grade gallon size bag.

no blanch, no rinse, I shuffle off any 'field debris' I come across.

blanching is supposed to kill off the surface enzyme activity - which supposedly leads to 'off color' / etc / and what-not-all-else. we rarely have garden green beans past Christmas - so perhaps our 3-4 month freezer stay is not long enough to demonstrate the problems as accused....?
