Does sweetness enhance burgers?

I just watched "World Food Championships" on the new FYI channel (used to be Biography channel).

This competition was all about burgers. Many of the incredible, out-of-the-box designed burgers that the judges loved had an element of sweetness to them.

Such as, glazed donuts and waffles instead of buns, candied bacon, peach salsa ....

I have never been a fan of sweet stuff in my savory stuff, but some of these burgers looked wonderful.

Do you put sweet things in, or on. your burgers? Other than carmelized onions.

I always put B-B-Q sauce on mine, along with caramelized onions. I guess they're both kinda sweet.

I have not tried sweet on a burger. Although, if you think of it, there is sweeter in ketchup.

No, in fact, that would ruin the burger for me. Ketchup, yes, but that isn't real sweet like glazed donuts, wrinkling my nose as I type. I don't even like those King's Hawaiian rolls that are so popular.
