Mashed potatoes and applesauce

Mashed potatoes and applesauce are two side dishes that always go well together. Since I was a little girl, if we were having mashed potatoes, we almost always had apple sauce, too.
Hot dogs were always served with baked beans (actually, it's was Campbell's pork and beans, but you get the idea)
Roast beef was almost always served with french cut green beans.
Mashed potatoes also had a pretty good chance of having niblet corn nearby, too.

Other than a condiment (ketchup, vinegar, mustard, jam, etc) are there two things that you always eat together?

steak and baked potato was standard.
Had to have white bread with pork chops in mushroom gravy.
Pot roast can't exist without mashed taters.
If it was fried fish, it was fried green tomatoes and okra too.
(This was the night I BEGGED my friends to invite me to dinner.)

Macaroni and Meatballs. In my house, growing up, and still today, we never ever say 'pasta'. Regardless of the shape, and unless it was spaghetti, it was macaroni. And we always had macaroni with meatballs.

very garlicky chived & cheddary scrambled egg; roast beef & carrot, halved potato denched in butter, then smushed via fork, celery & onion (we avoid that celery though! my Dad, though, he is the celery guy so we take carrot & he takes that celery; corned beef hash & fried egg was an old combo; chili/buttered italian bread, cheese, sour cream & sliced scallion. Dad's beef & gravy on simple bread & my Mom's smushed taters; swiss steak & her taters; lox on my cream-cheesed bagels; stuffed cabbage & again, Mom's taters! leftover roast, gravy, cheap bread, taters again!
