WASHINGTON, July 16, 2015 – The Sausage Factory Inc., a Carson City, Nev. establishment, is recalling approximately 5,960 pounds of sausage products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Although produced under USDA inspection, some packages may not bear the USDA mark of inspection.
The sausage items were produced on various dates between March 30 and June 12, 2015. The following products are subject to recall: [View Label]
The problem was discovered during routine FSIS verification activities.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify theircustomers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
