Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Never explain yourself. Your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe it anyway.

Peeps, I love your lunch AND your dinner. And Joe, I hope we get to see the rest of the dinner - the bread looks simply perfect. We are doing a re-run of last night. Making soup for two people is just about impossible, so we have mucho leftovers. Especially with minestrone soup, I just can't seem to avoid adding more and more stuff, ending up with a cauldron. It's good, though, so it's OK.

Bang!
Better?

Karen, I hear ya on the soup.
Making it just for myself affords a whole lot of leftovers for the freezer too.
Plus soups always taste even better reheated as everyone knows

Even though this is a repeat meal from a couple of weeks ago, it was still very good.Sirloin beef tips in red wine/chicken broth sauce with mire poix, over homemade semolina fettuccine that I made last night. The baguettes came out great, and DW even had two slices with dinner.

Beautiful Joe.
The dinner, the plate, the place mats.
Very nice!

Thanks, Sass. This is one of the new "empty nester" dinnerware sets for me and DW. Only two of each piece...just for us! Yes, it's kinda selfish, but we've earned it.

i actually planned something, went to the store, then made what i'd planned!! yipee!

i made the baked stuffed rainbow trout, and dw made redskin mashed and crescent-ish rolls to go along with it.

the trout after baking:

my plate, with the skin of the trout pulled back:

dw finally listened to me and watched how i ate the fish. if you use your fork just the right way, the meat comes away leaving the bones still connected to the spine, sorta like a cartoon fish skeleton, lol. that way you don't have to pick bones out of what you're chewing.
