Rhubarb Pie

I used the recipe out of an early 70's Betty Crocker Cookbook and it seems they have changed the recipe to include more flour to thicken, increased the rhubarb to 6 cups, and increased the sugar which I wouldn't do. The old recipe calls for 1 2/3 cup sugar and I thinks that's just right for 6 cups of rhubarb.

I don't like strawberries in rhubarb pie but wouldn't turn it down if offered.

Here's a link to the recipe:

Today we hit the shops and Spooner Farm and got strawberries and rhubarb.
I made a pie but we also had sweet biscuits and a lot of berries so short cake
was tonight’s desert and will save the pie till tomorrow.

It was excellent and guests loved it. I added zest from an orange which I’d read about in another recipe. Nancy made whipped cream to top.
