ST - That last place you spoke of, the Garden? Now that sounds really good! I go crazy at a good buffet. But I'm assuming that the place is close to where you live in Nevada and not a national chain or anything like that. Too bad because it sounds like a great place to go. With a Casino attached, it must be near Vegas?

The Bellagio has a buffet that is pretty spectacular, as far as buffets go, BUT, it is more of a showcase of individual stations, where things are prepared to order, right then and there. A wide variety of regions, the quality is actually good, unlike most buffets, and the pastry department is worth the visit alone. Mind you, it's like $40 a head, but that isn't bad for the amazing spectacle that it is. A generous slice of actual PRIME rib(with sides), sliced to order, some beautiful Maki Rolls, made to order, and an amazing dessert for $40 isn't bad.

The Rio World Buffet I would give equal accolades to. Not the typical "Number 1 Buffet Chinatown Express" type place on thinks, when they think buffets.

Guess I'm just going to have to give up buffets for good! I couldn't afford to walk through the front door of the Bellagio, let alone eat there - not at $40 for a meal, anyway, no matter how thick the prime rib is - and any place that decorates with Captain Kirk's vest isn't a place I'd want to eat in! Sorry, but I'm not a Star Trek fan, much. And to top it all off, a tacky prop from Poltergeist? Uuuuukkkkkkk! Couldn't take it, I'm afraid. But Ralph, I'd have to say that you might be unhappily surprised to learn - if you ever walked around the "pantry" in a popular restaurant, how long the salads, for example, sit waiting for someone to come along and eat them. And soup is often put on simmer early on and left for way longer than any two hours. Specialty breads and rolls and desserts often sit for long periods, as well. I've gotten more of an education since I left school then I ever thought possible............
