This is in the oven as I impatiently wait . . . .

Big Apple Pancake
Recipe
Breakfast
Category
Servings
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
1 large or 2 medium sweet apple such as Gala or Golden
Delicious, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch-wide
wedges <I used Honeycrisp>
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon and cloves to taste
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 450°F.
Melt butter in skillet over moderate heat, then transfer 2 tablespoons to a blender. Add apple wedges to
skillet, dust with cinnamon and cook, turning over once, until beginning to soften, 3 to 5 minutes.
While apple is cooking, add milk, flour, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt to butter in blender and
blend until smooth.
Pour batter over apple and transfer skillet to oven. Bake until pancake is puffed and golden, about 15
minutes. Dust with confectioners sugar and serve immediately.

I've been playing around with sourdough starters the past week. I've made regular sourdough bread and made the "crack bread" and I made some Polish sourdough rye.

Mr. Green Jeans, that apple thing looks fantastic! And easy - on my list!

Barb, I adore sourdough bread, but NOTHING is better than Polish rye!!

Perfect job on both!

Peeps, just go to my website and you'll find my Polish sourdough rye recipe. Not sure if it's the same one Barb uses, but it's very good.

I made hamburger buns tonight to go with the Italian beef I made for dinner.

I also made blueberry muffins.

Thank you Lee.

The bread sticks tasted like pizza when dipped into the sauce and cheese.

I made some soft oat dinner rolls today. These will be going on the dinner table for Thanksgiving too!

I baked a gooey pumpkin butter cake along with a caramel apple crumb pie yesterday. I've made the cake many times so I know that it is good but I wasn't able to taste the pie. I took it to DD's house and they assured me that it was delicious. I used sweetened condensed milk to make the caramel but I think I need to double the amount because it just didn't look very caramelly.

Thanks Shermie!

Soon Peepers. I've been taking pain meds so it's a little difficult to concentrate. It's gotten me a little behind building my recipe pages. Hopefully I'll be able to get them posted within the next few days. Both of them are wonderful Thanksgiving desserts.
