SAUSAGE CHEESE ROLL

10 oz. sharp cheese, grated
1 lb. sausage, browned and drained (I use Jimmy Dean's Hot)
3 c. Bisquick
3/4 c. cold water

Add cheese to Bisquick. Add water, and mix as for biscuits. Knead a few times.
Roll out to 16x20 inches on a lightly floured board.
Spread sausage evenly.
Roll as for jelly roll. Slice crosswise. (I firm up the roll in the freezer to make slicing neater)
Grease cookie sheet and place slices on sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes.

These are great for brunch.

John, if you can find either Cumberland or Lincolnshire sausages , that's the type you'd want in a proper sausage roll.
😉

OMG, I definitely want to make this!!!

Lee
Lee, Steven's Mother used to make them for Sunday tea. We would have them too, and occasionally get them at a popular place all over called Greggs.
Linda McCartney had a line of vegetarian ones too that were awesome.
I hope you do try them, John too.
You both are more likely to find the right type of sausage to use being so close to mega cities lol
