Tasty Swedish Meatball Appetizer
(or Dinner, Served Over Noodles)

2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 pounds ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 envelope brown gravy mix (I use McCormick's)
1/2 cup sour cream
Dash each nutmeg and pepper
Hot cooked noodles (optional)

In a bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. Crumble meat over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls (about 6 dozen).
Place in a single layer in ungreased baking pans.
Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes or until no longer pink, turning often.

In a large skillet, prepare gravy according to package directions. Add meatballs; cover and cook for 10 minutes or until heated
through. Remove from the heat; stir in the sour cream, nutmeg and pepper.
Serve with toothpicks handy

(Serve over noodles, if desired)

Bump for homecook.

Here's one, Barb, but I think I'd like to make my own gravy.

Did your Mom make her own gravy?

What makes the meatball Swedish?
Sure, I've heard of Swedish meatballs, And I know I've eaten them at a restaurant called "Little Bit of Sweden", but I never understood how they differed from a regular meatball other than they weren't served with red gravy.

I thought it was the gravy that made them swedish because of the sour cream....???

So if you take any meatball recipe and don't put them in the pot with your spaghetti sauce, it's a Swedish meatball? Sounds simple enough.

So OK, how does a Swedish meatball differ from a meatloaf, the shape? lol
