The blue, white and yellow morning glory is a new variety to me - lovely!

I finally saw a hummingbird on my Scarlet Runner Beans last evening! Do you get hummingbirds in your garden, Saliha?

So pretty, Saliha!

Here are a few pictures of my 2016 container garden.

My peppers did so well this year - the white/yellow variety is Sante Fe Grande - only mildly hot if I remove the seeds and membranes.

One of my sunflower plants is incredible! More than 2 dozen blooms and buds on one plant!

Garden is still flowering at September:

I harvested most of the shark fin melons yesterday and got about 30 kg. Still few are growing but not long as nights are many times quite cold.

Saliha, your sunflowers look so sturdy without being staked. I usually have to stake mine - partly because the damned squirrels run up the stalks and eat the seed heads!

There are short stakes and support lines behind which tie stalks together but you donīt see them. Anyways, they might grow stronger without stakes. I found this article about growing process of them:

Hummingbirds are native only to the Americas. In fact when the Spaniards first saw them they thought that they were a kind of bumble bee because they were so small.

Cold temperatures have damaged slightly the buds and the flowers.

Garden is emptier than before because of the harvest and autumn cleaning:

I was cleaning today the compost beds and suddenly found few more shark fin melons. They were growing under the leaves and I hadnīt noticed them before. Here come the last ones of this season:

2,5 kg

from 300 to 400 grams

The biggest one feels very ripe - when I pat it, itīs like a small drum.

*goes patting melons*

More and more leaves everywhere but days have been so windy that raking has to wait:

In the compost beds they will became new soil for my garden.

Still quite much cleaning here:
