Default Free Anti-Virus Protection?

Can someone suggest a free anti-virus protection program download that is good.

it's German based - they are 5-8 hours ahead of any zero-day stuff you might encounter.

free for personal use; consistently rates in the Top 1-2 for decades and decades; light touch; auto updates; yadda yadda. does have a "screen" - some call it a "nag screen" - I've come to think of it as "hot diggity, it's definitely working, nothing has disabled it."

I've been using it since the mid-80's.

Malwarebytes and Window's Defender. Flat out the BEST combination I've found. And neither one wants to take over your computer with crapware, either.
