Med, German carbonara sound intriging, please explain/describe.

It was certainly different, but it was good, very rich. I did it for a cook-along on another forum to come up with different versions of carbonara, and also for a leafy greens challenge, the cabbage part, which I thought cabbage would be included in a German dish like this. I have to type up the recipe as part of the challenge and will do that later today or tomorrow, so I'll post it here too. If I ever make it again, I'll tweak some and I'll note those in the recipe as well.

Spaghetti every day, just cooked a different way, mama used to say.

Fried spaghetti in oil and butter...added boiled brussels sprouts.

Not home made, I tried to make mock French Onion soup.
1- can Campbell's French onion soup.
a few slices of Gruyere cheese.
Big handful of Cheese-its.
Well the cheese sunk and melted into the broth.
& the cheese its rose to the top. LOL
I'll look up the recipe next time.
The cheese-its actually tasted great in the broth.
but not strong enough to hold up the
Gruyere cheese. It tasted pretty good; but I'll find a recipe next time.

We used to use toasted french bread, but we got an idea to use those toasted bread croutons, and they worked great.
